Autumn in Boston
My trip to Boston came in the latter half of the Autumn in New York adventure. Troy and I hopped on the train at Penn Station, and road it all the way to Back Bay. The four-or-so-hour train ride was much needed after the many miles we’d walked every day in NYC. We sat back, read, listened to music and gazed out the window at the autumn leaves trailing by.
The Food
Our meals in Boston included grilled Salmon, calamari and lager by the harbor, and sushi downtown. It’s the breakfast treats that will stick with me, though. The morning after our arrival, we revived our souls with a hot cup o’ joe and the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had to date. No exaggeration—the egg, cheesy goodness and handmade bread filled my spirit. Mike and Patty’s did not disappoint. And Tatte’s was the cherry on top.
The Sights
I’d always dreamed of visiting Boston—imagining the harbor where the Boston Tea Party occurred, walking through historic homes, like that of Paul Revere, wandering the Harvard Campus and visiting The Old North Church. The extent of my historical knowledge and experiences of Boston came from the books I read and the photos I’d seen. Standing on the actual Freedom Trail made me feel the weight of the history I was surrounded by.
It was quite the journey.
